Central Idaho's Sawtooth Mountains are among the most beautiful and picturesque ranges on the planet .  Being Idaho's most famous mountains, the Sawtooths gain their notoriety from their pink granites which have been sculpted into massively scenic pinnacles and shear omnipotent walls by ice age glaciers of years past.  With over 216,000-acres of wilderness, thousands of gorgeous alpine lakes and ponds, over 50 points topping the 10,000.00 foot mark and some of the most extensive and best maintained trail systems in the state, the Sawtooths are hard to beat.  Extensive off trail regions also exist giving those who want to shed the crowds of the Sawtooth's more popular regions, ample opportunities for solitude.  Hiking, climbing, ski mountaineering, mountain biking, fishing in both lakes and streams and cross-country skiing opportunities are abundant.
